Emmanuel Church was founded at St Peter’s Church in the West End of London, with 70 people attending the first service.
1991
Chua Wee Hian, the husband of King Ling, was appointed senior pastor. Dr John Stott preached at that service.
1996
Seven years after Emmanuel Church was founded, we were greatly impacted by the Charismatic Renewal Movement and we became a Word and Spirit church. With input from Trinity Christian Centre in Singapore, we introduced a transforming model for discipleship and leadership.
1997
A milestone: Through a gift of £300K by a visitor who heard the voice of God, and the generous giving of His people, we by God’s grace, purchased the Marsham Street property for £1.2 million.
2000
Michael Ross-Watson was appointed as pastor.
2002
Emmanuel Chinese Church was planted with Ps Bobby Sung as its first senior pastor.
2005
Naomi Dowdy from Trinity Christian Centre, Singapore became the presiding apostle of Emmanuel Church.
2007
Emmanuel Edgware was planted known formerly as Emmanuel North West.
2008
Peter Loo was appointed as the new senior pastor by Pastor Chua.
2010
Colin Williams was appointed as associate pastor.
2014
Doreen Teh was appointed pastor.
2015
The Emmanuel Edgware Church building was purchased.
2019
Bruce Atkinson was appointed associate pastor.
2023
Richard Hindley was appointed bi-vocational pastor.
